Description

This is a phenomenal antique engraving print that is over 170 years old (1842-45).  It depicts a "Lion Dog". I believe this may be a Chow Chow, but if you have a better ID of what foundation breed this represents, please let me know!
The print is a small but incredibly high quality antique copper or steel engraving from 1842-1845. It is a Honegger engraving (a respected printer of the time). It is hard to scan a fine engraving like this, but under a magnifying glass, you'll see amazing crisp fine engraved lines. It has been hand-colored, must likely at the time of production in the 1840s. The paper is thick and of high quality so it holds the details well. See scan for a better idea of the condition.
The print measures approx. 4.4 x 4.5 inches, and the actual image size (without margins) is approx. 4 x 3 inches.
This is GENUINE antique/vintage item. It is not a modern reproduction.
